Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday & The Blonger Bros. |
|
When Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday fled Arizona after killing the cow-boys, did they turn to the Blonger Bros.?
Though we have yet to prove a link between the
Blonger Bros. and the Earp brothers, it's quite probable they were acquainted. Even in the absence of direct evidence, it is highly unlikely that Wyatt Earp
and his men could spend several days in town without the marshal's knowledge or participation.
The evidence, such as it is, comes from three sources: Albuquerque newspaper accounts of the Earp story, Sam's occasional deputy and a known associate of the Mastersons in Dodge, gambler Charlie Ronan, and a letter supposedly written by Miguel A. Otero, Jr., that has come to be known as The Otero Letter.
